::: Welcome |
Dear Colleague:
You are cordially invited to New Haven, Connecticut, to attend the 10th
AATSP Biennial Northeast Regional Meeting hosted by the Department of
Spanish and Portuguese at Yale University, on September 10-12, 2004. This
is the second meeting of the new century, after the successful meeting in
Providence in 2000. A number of institutions are co-sponsoring our get
together.
The enthusiastic response to the Call for Papers resulted in a total of 88
sessions/panels and workshops covering a wide range of topics of interest
for everyone. The presence of the fast growing Spanish - and
Portuguese-speaking population is creating deep changes in American
society. The cultural contribution of Spanish, Latin American, Brazilian
and Portuguese culture, literature and the arts will be the focus of
enlightened analysis and discussions.
You will have the opportunity to attend many thought provoking papers,
sessions, panels, and share ideas and new perceptions. The dynamics of new
cultural trends and pedagogical achievements will enrich and equip
teachers with new information and updated learning technology strategies
to take back to the classroom.
This is the time to update skills, practice the language, acquire new
knowledge, renew networking contacts, learn salsa and samba steps, visit
the casinos, tour the city and the Yale campus and earn CEU's or PDP's.
See you at the Biennial! |
